When it comes to landing clients for your copywriting services, consistency is key.
You see, most of my copywriting clients today are the same prospects I reached out to 2 years ago, a year ago or even a few months ago.
How did I convert them to clients?
Simple.
I reach out everyday.
I keep in touch.
And most importantly… I follow-up.
This lead generation strategy is simple yet so powerful as this has always helped me become the prospect’s top of mind.
Here are ways on how you can use the power of follow-up so you too can become your prospect’s top of mind:
Leverage on special occasions.
A simple, heartfelt message on special occasions like Labor day, St. Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year goes a long way.
Just the mere act of being thoughtful and letting them know that they are remembered will set you apart from all the rest.
Who knows? Maybe this simple greeting can lead to landing a client, referrals, new projects, a solid network or even a new friend.
There really is nothing to lose.
Keep in touch with everyone, everytime.
Yes, you need to keep in touch not only with your current clients or warm leads but with everyone.
And when I say everyone, it includes:
- Warm leads who said, “I’ll get back to you in X time.”
- Prospects who are not answering your questions or messages.
- Clients who just ended a contract with you.
- Old, old clients
- Even freezing cold leads
Make sure your presence is felt by sending them emails or messages at least once a month.
Because as long as your client is not telling you a big fat NO, there still is a slim chance that they might get your copywriting service in the future.
Again, consistency is key so make it a habit to always be in their inboxes.
Build relationships
You might not notice it but as you continuously follow-up and give value, you are slowly building relationships over time.
So when the time comes that they’ll be needing a copywriter, you’ll be the first person they’ll think of.
Because you became the top of mind.
You see, lead generation is not just about making money.
It’s about building relationships.
And once a solid foundation is built, money will just follow naturally.
I hope you learned something new today.
Enjoy prospecting.
