Ms. Maan asked: Do you have any ritual before writing a sales letter?
Like before you actually start clicking on your keyboard to write?
Because I’m writing a sales letter currently and it took me 3 days (more or less) before I can type a word. Natatakot ako sa blank page. lols
Note: Ms Maan already did her research.
To answer:
Yes, I have a ritual.
Before I write a single word of copy, what I usually do are…
- Open the research file.
- Re-read whatever are in the research file until they sink in.
- Once done, I’ll pick paragraphs and phases that will help me write the copy. Then transfer them on the blank page.
For instance…
The testimonials in my research file that I can use as the lead story.
The quotation from a popular publication that I can use as part of the headline.
The lines or phrases in one of the testimonials that I think will resonate with my readers.
I literally copy-and-paste those info.
If you’re writing copy for a coaching program then you can copy and paste the program and offer outline on your Google docs.
(Usually kasi binibigay na ni client yung offer n1ya. )
4. Also, if you or your client use a canned Money back guarantee or scarcity or close then copy and paste them on the Google docs.
So what happens now?
Well…
Your blank page is no longer a blank page anymore.
So kung Natatakot ka sa blank page. — ayan, nasolve na natin. Hehe.
It’s literally copy and pasting all the useful info from the research doc to the google docs. And by doing that…
You now have your initial research ready for you to assemble into copy.
I hope you got the point.
